Welcome
This section will tell you everything you need to know about organising Jeans for Genes Day at your secondary school.
Who says jeans have to be blue? Abbey Wood School in Greenwich
It’s really easy to organise a Jeans for Genes Day at your secondary school. The first step is to sign up for your free fundraising pack, full of everything you need to plan your Jeans for Genes Day 2009.
The Day is a great way to inspire staff and children, and to bring the whole school together. Pupils can get involved too. They can organise assemblies, create displays and develop their own fundraising ideas.
They can also learn what it's like to be a child with a genetic disorder. Our new interactive educational materials for key stages 3-4 will help them explore the fascinating world of science and genetics.
Our curriculum-focused films, whiteboard activities, animations and discussion guides are available free at www.genesareus.org
“We truly believe as a school that it is vitally important for our students to support charities, and in particular the link with Jeans for Genes is one that enables our students to be educated about the issues of genetic disorders alongside their fundraising efforts." Nicky Williams, headteacher, Francis Combe School in Watford
